2015 please, be kind to us all...

One Year ago, my son expressed the wish to have white hair – Thanks to Frozen, the movie. By the end of March that is what he had… White hair… The Price? His health!! 2014 has been a Roller coaster ride. Cancer has come back, we spent 10 months in the UK, because the drug is new on adults and Thomas has been given a special permit to take the medication. Away from all the family, from home, but, in the meantime we met other people, made more friends… other patients and their families, some were lost along the way, I salute Carl, Morgan and Dominic. I, hope that my help, has been of some comfort to all that arrived at Martin Court, most of them for the first time, every time, I saw myself 15 years ago, lost and confused.

2014… was it a good year or a bad year? It started very bad, but thanks to the Almighty we managed to hang on both physically and mentally. I would like to thank all that helped in any way… money, a hug, other things... you all know who you are! – From the deepest place of our heart we are grateful to you all. Most of all we are GRATEFUL for all the help that Puttinu Cares gave us. 10 months of accommodation at Martin Court in Sutton and only God knows how many more, If it was not for them and obviously for all those that help and give their donations that make this possible, it would have been next to impossible for us to make it. I have learnt many things in the past year, more than in the past 42 years. The first thing I learnt is to accept life as it comes, Life is like a river it starts from top of the mountain and it ends up in the sea… one way or another, we all have to pass on to the other side, no matter what the media and commercial says – we can never stay young, fit and beautiful.

I apologize if sometimes I am hard on some, what the hell I am twice as hard on myself, but I believe that the more you feel sorry for yourself the worse you make things. I am grateful for Kevin Galea, my husband, he is always there, even though sometimes we were miles apart he was always there to pick me up, after making hard breaking decisions and I break apart. I am grateful for THOMAS, If it was not for him, we would not have been traveling this journey, It was hard, and it is going to be harder. But all in all it has been a good 2014.

2015 please, be kind to us and all our family and friends! And to all of you out there be careful what you wish for! May 2015 be a good year to all of you! God Bless you all!
